How do I add a book? Tap the import button on the library screen and pick an .epub file from your device. Own Shelf opens and parses it entirely on your iPhone — nothing is uploaded.
Where can I find EPUBs? Any DRM-free EPUB works. Free, public-domain titles are available from sites like Project Gutenberg.
How does auto-scroll work? Press play in the reader to start the teleprompter-style scroll. Use the SPEED slider to set your reading pace, or switch the toggle to GO TO to scrub your position and skip between chapters.
How do I remove a book? Long-press it in the library to delete. Everything is stored locally, so deleting removes it from your device.
Is my reading data private? Yes. Own Shelf has no server and makes no network requests. See our Privacy Policy.
